Mapufacture joins the OGC

ANN ARBOR, Mich., October 9, 2007 - Mapufacture Inc. announced that it is joining as an associate member of the The Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC) (http://www.opengeospatial.org).

Mapufacture Inc. is taking part in the OGC Web Services (OWS) initiative investigating Mass Market uses of the Keyhole Markup Language (KML) and development of demonstration interfaces that utilize KML within other OGC standards.

Andrew Turner, Co-Founder of Mapufacture, said “Mapufacture has been continually involved in the development and promotion of light-weight and usable standards. We’re glad to join the OGC on the formalization of KML as a standard and also help communication between the members of the OGC and the broader geo-development community.”
